Mom

So, last tuesday started out as a normal day and quickly turned into stress city for my whole family. My mom went in for a stress test on her heart and we found out she had an enlarged aeorta which could burst at any moment. It was the biggest aeorta the doctor had ever seen! So they told her she had to go in for emergency open heart surgery on thursday. It was really scary and was a hard week, especially for her but for all of us in one way or another. Needless to say, she was discharged yesterday and is doing well. She is back home and starting to sound like herself again. It is nice to know her heart is in good shape now and that everything looks good. She is still in some pain and has a hard time getting around but all in all we are grateful she is still with us. After all she is only 49! The Dr. said it is most likely genetic and other then that her heart is in great shape! I guess all her excersizing paid off! Ben is sick with strep throat today so we spent the day hunting down a doctors appointment and prescriptions. Katie had it a few weeks ago so it was not a huge surprise but I thought we had all dodged a bullet since noone got sick after the 1 week mark.....boy was I wrong. Ben is miserable! He even asked shaun for a blessing, it was sweet. He wanted one so bad so he could feel a little bit better.
